I'm going to pick up a 450D bundle deal tonight.
One of the deals also includes a Tamron 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 lens and 4GB card for £80.
How does this lens compare and is it a good lens for the additional cost?
If someone can answer this before I finish work at 6PM, I would appreciate it.
TIA.

I have the Tamron 70-300mm.

I am FAR from an expert, but I miss not having the range between the kit 18-55 and the Tamron at 70-300.

The kit 18-55 is alos included in the deal.
I just wondered if the Tamron 70-300mm would be worth the additional cost as part of the bundle or perhaps just take it it with the kit lens

I got the same deal 3 weeks ago, with the 18-55, 70-300 and 4 gig card....

I wouldnt be without the 300mm.... I've been to the GP and Farnborough and 99.9% were with the 300..... It's a good deal IMHO....

What price and where?? I hope i dont feel sick after...

i found a simaler deal and i was advised on here to get the 450D with 18-55mm IS kit lense and then buy the canon 55-250mm IS lens instead of the tamron still not got the camera mind but its what i'll be doing :)

450D purchased :)
I went for the bundle deal with the Tamron 70-300mm.
Somehow my good lady managed to get me to fork out £89 for a bag as well.
There is a tenner back offer on the bag as well so that's £60 I can claim back in total.
I've been reading the manual while waiting for the battery to charge and I am impressed with the level of detail it covers.
After taking a few shots in auto mode I can see the downfalls already (over exposure etc etc) so tomorrow I will play in manual mode.
Thanks for the advice guys, no doubt I will post a few pics once I have become more familiar with the camera.
