Following a lot of problems with Dell they are giving me a refund of my purchase price.. They agreed to do this on the 22nd.

I havent had any funds from them in my account yet but today I got a 'credit note' listing my system specs and whatnot.. Does this mean the funds should be here already or they will follow shortly?

Hope someone knows.. lol :)

Thanks

Hmm I didnt think of that. They said refund.. I dont want to buy something from them again... They are awful..

Sigh.. I best get on the phone.

I emailed the last cs rep i spoke to (Always pays to get their full name that way you can email them and not waste money on a phone call).

Hopefully she will reply by tomorrow, otherwise I will call then. I am at the point where im loathe to waste more phone bill on them.

Tell them to **** their gift voucher and give you a full refund + interest unless they like the sound of a court case.

Already given them 14 days to provide a refund as of the 22nd July or im taking it to small claims. Sent the letter recorded, and they phoned me when they recieved it so they definately had it..

But yeah, they can stick their gift voucher where the sun dont shine..

Sometimes companies do credit notes and then you have to request a cheque. Eclipse the ISP do it this way.

I tried to ring them to see if that was the case.. Cs reception put me through to technical reception, who put me back through to cs reception. I told cs reception I needed to speak to cs, but you guessed it, they put me back through to technical reception.

I then told them again i needed cs, back to cs reception, told them i needed cs, gave them the names of 3 people there.. thought for sure i would get to cs... No back to technical reception.

All i can say is, dont buy a dell :)

Im more bothered by the pathetic customer service than the quality of the laptop. I could easilly believe my laptop was something of an isolated incident of poor quality control or something.

As for business customers, as someone already posted on here, thats a completely different kettle of fish :) Dell actually give a crap about business customers.

Ah well, Ive cost them about 2.5k now in lost sales, from people ive directed elsewhere. Its nothing in the grand scheme of things but it makes me feel better.

how old was the computer? if it was less than 6 months by law they have to give you a refund or proof any fault with the computer wasnt there when it was sold.

if its after 6 months you have to proof the fault was there when it was sold lol wierd law :P

Over 6 months old. They have already agreed to refund me, but im just concerned about getting this credit note thing.

I spoke to trading standards, and they told me that since dell had their chance to fix the problem, then had more than a reasonable amount of time to replace the laptop (Which they failed to do after nearly 2 months), then i am due a refund.
