Ramadan Mubarak

All you do is eat at different times and I bet by only eating in the evening/night you eat more than you would eat normally anyway.

It must kinda suck having Ramadan in summer with longer days etc but kudos on the dedication to it.

Half of the **** people spout is cringeworthy - I can't imagine my muslim colleagues would be best pleased with something like the things said in this thread, even if it is a 'joke'.

I'm pretty sure that in a couple of years (?) the fasting will take place in the height of summer... just imagine not eating all those daylight hours :o

What's this Ramadan Murbarak thing then? It's something to do with Muslims I hear. Probably some secret code word telling all Muslims to initiate mass suicide bombings across the country. Damn terrorists.

:p

I can't not eat for about 3 hours before I start to feel weak haha :p And the no drinking thing, that's just idiotic.

I may be a pork eating godless infadel, but I have a lot of respect for those who have the strength to stick to their beliefs to those lengths.

PK!

Couldn't you just change you day, so you just switch day with night? You can still eat breakfast, dinner and lunch that way.

Even if their beliefs are utterly pointless?

Yes, why should it matter?

To some people a mug tree is a pointless waste of wood, to others an essential kitchen item. Its all personal opinion.

Just because I don't feel the need for religion in my life doesn't make it wrong for others, and I don't feel the need to mock them just because they are different.

It's the strength of character to stick to those beliefs that I admire, the fact that they are different to mine is irrelevent.

PK!

Possibly one of the most sensible posts in an islam related thread i've ever seen in GD.

I'm not overly religious, but have a lot of respect for those that are religious and actually act in the spirit of their religion even when it's hard - Ramadan fasting being one such example.

Wow forget that, how would one get a steady supple of nutrients in the blood, the calories those muslims will intake is going to be pathetic.

Not really, some foods break down fast giving an "instant" (or near instant) boost to the blood sugar etc, others break down much slower, it's one of the differences in say drinking a sugary drink, and eating a banana, the sugary drink will give a near instant boost to blood sugar, whilst a banana will break down slower and might give you that boost an hour later.

It's just a case of giving what you eat a bit of thought, and knowing a bit about your food.
