Contact Lenses

I doubt it's age related as I had Gas Permeable lenses from ~9 years old, (I clearly remember loosing one in the play ground at junior school :) ). Used to wear them until I was at University when the time and expense of cleaning them every day became a bit much so now I just use glasses.

I suspect that you have been doing fine without glasses until now your prescription may not be strong enough to be able to have contact lenses instead of glasses.

The most healthy lenses you can get are high DK Rigid Gas Permeable. They allow more oxygen through than even the extended wear soft lenses. They are very rarely dispensed to new customers now, as people aren't prepared to spend the time getting used to them. Unlike soft lenses you need to get used to them over a number of weeks. Also, unlike soft lenses, they aren't suitable for occasional wear. They are also the best lenses for correcting astigmatism.

How do they correct astigmatism mate?

And apparently they are really uncomfy - this true?

Also, how much do they cost?

Cheers mate :)

I'm only -0.75 in both eyes.

Burnsy

Lucky you :p

Left -0.50 / Right - 4.75 iirc.

I have the astigmatism ones for the right eye. The left eye, cant feel any contact lense when its in place. On the right eye, I can just barely feel it as it is a thicker lense. Get used to it after a while though and cant feel a thing.
