Hello there,

I've just ordered a Gecube card having never owned one before. I know they're a lesser known brand, but as it was at a good price I took the plunge.

Can anyone put my mind at rest and tell me whether Gecube are a reasonable manufacturer?

I know some people will stick to one manufacturer whilst others just go for whatever the cheapest is at the time and argue there's very little difference between manufacturers (and sometimes several different brands are made in the same factory anyway).

Thanks for replies :)

As far as i am lead to believe all cards are made in the same factory's only the warranty's are different on standard cards. So if the warranty is good for you then buy should not be any problem.

What card is it? Chances are it is a reference board design and the same as all the other cards, maybe with a custom cooler. There aren't really any bad cards, the areas which vary are quality of customer service and warranty.

Cheers for replies.

It's an HD 3850 Pro.

So theres very little difference between cards from different manufacturers then, it's just the aftersales service which may vary?

Pretty much. Besides Gecube is a subsiduary of Gigabyte, so they have a lot backing them.

GeCube are known to use elaborate cooling devices on their cards. But as a whole they're all the same really. Go for the cheapest.
