68% of my 2gb is being used but by what??

Hi all, Currently my Media PC is using 68% of the memory and a good amount is with 20 versions of svchost.exe being run in the processes, Now i have read this up and it is used to handle the varias dll's but do i need that many running? one of them is using 100mb of memory?

What OS are you using?

Assuming none of the SVChosts have been hijacked by rogue applications (I assume you have run the normal anti virus / spyware scans) ?

mine are using about 160mb total (vista 64 business N), and i don't have a virus.

20 sounds unusually high. I suppose its posible you have virus/spyware that's emulating that process.

You have the RAM.ddr virus.

If its just a media pc there's a lot of crap you can disable in services.msc that will reduce that amount.
