Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

It's not mean't to be out today though in retail so why should they sell it to you? Games are always released on Fridays or, in exceptional circumstances, Tuesday.

As for the Steam release date, it says world wide release on the 18th - don't think it specifies which time zone thats in. I think it's fair to say though that since everything else on the Steam site is american that the dates they put up are based on PST time, so it will be the 18th when it is released.

I'm more annoyed at the lack of a pre-load than anything though, although that's Crytek/EA's fault if they don't provide Valve with it - Valve has given Steam the functionality to offer this but it's up to the developer to actually implement it. :o

I still can't see why the yanks get it before us though. We are at least 5 hours infront of them, so IMO, we should have been able to download it last midnight! I think the only reason they DO have it before anyone else is because EA/Steam are american. I would love to hear a detailed explanation from EA/Valve on why usa get's the game before the rest of the world! I was under the impression that release date is 18th, so thats when the game is released to the public. By the sounds of it, it means the publishers are releasing the game to the reteilers on the 18th!

Channel islands still not dispatched my copy. Not too happy about that I will be getting it from purple store tomorrow after work :)

If you had bothered to read my earlier post you would see that I am running it at 1360x768. So I would expect that low a res to be able to handle 12xAA or 24xAA as they are Edge Detect AA methods which are the equivalent of 4xAA or 8xAA on Nvidia cards. This game is just as sluggish as Crysis and the object pop-up & texture pop-in is a complete joke if this is Cryteks idea of optimisation.

Crytek have pulled the wool over PC gamers again by saying the game will run smoother. All they have done is rename the graphical presets.

No you're full of crap, sorry. Crysis on my 1360x768 display runs smooth maxed out but even at that res I'm going to run out of video memory if I whack the antialiasing up that much, so quite why you expect Warhead will run completely maxed out with that much antialiasing is beyond me.

Please stop your whining before you make a bigger fool out of yourself, and use sensible settings.

.... you're an idiot. 12x or even 24x AA is still far too much at 1360x768. It's a ridiculous amount. We have guys who wanted simple 2xAA at 1280x1024 with the original and we all know it'll struggle with that, so we have realistic expecatations... unlike you, who wants over ten times that amount of anti-aliasing. Get a grip.
