whats the cheapest motherboard to run 2 x 4870 cards with q6600

need cheapest because im getting a new 28" monitor

two or more ati cards is crossfire, not sli.

you need an X38 chipset for full 16x 16x crossfire. or a p45 chipset for 8x 8x

You can't notice the difference between 16 16 or 8 8 unless you look at a benchmark. It's only like 1.5fps

you mean a P35 board?

there'd be quite a difference between P35 and P45, yes.

that's how it works on P35 boards. I'd have thought that there wpuld be a difference,. 4x will hold back the second card quite a lot.
