What res? What are you comparing it with? 50fps, I challenge you, if you could achieve for example 80fps, you wouldn`t know the difference ... without your FRAPS or whatever ;)

At what screen resolution and what are you comparing your findings with/what did you expect and why? :)

Edit - Why has my sig borked?? Has been OK for 3 weeks :D

His cpu at the moment will be S939 (i think) that cpu is AM2

Actually on further reading, there were several '3000' rated CPUs by AMD, one was a Barton Athlon XP on Socket A, one was a 64, indeed, on Socket 939, and apparently there was an AM2 version as well, which was what I was thinking of. :p

You do notice a differance, mainly when rotating the camera, with 60+ panning the camera is totaly smooth, as is gameplay

With less than 60 but more than 30, you do get stutters when panning/rotating the camera/you view point but the gameplay will still be smooth and controls responsive

Sub 30 is bad news as it becomes difficult to move/turn the camera/your view and animations etc, sense of fluidity start to get unresponsive and jerky

Differant people have differant thresholds, some people are ok with frames below 30 although most are not. Speaking personally i like a constant 60+ if possible v sync'd to the monitors refresh for rock steady gaming, but thats quite taxing on modern games and usually means more frequent card upgrading to stay on top of the curve

I don't think you made a mistake going ATI, certainly not as far as COD i think that is one of those games that performs very well on ATI chipsets?
