NHS dentists would rather just extract a tooth, they get the same amount amount of "points" (UDA) for spending 30 mins extracting it (no aftercare) as they do for spending up to 2 hours doing root canal.

However if you asked is there anyway to fix that tooth and the reply was no, when infact it could have, now i need to travel too Switzeland for a tooth implant.
she now says we could do a bridge, told her were to go, a bridge damages other teeth, i said iam going for a inplant, she then tells me she doesnt do inplants and i'll be better off with a bridge when would you like to be booked in.

jesus I thought i was a bit OTT about my teeth sometimes, OP you're a headcase.
Big deal, a filling, wow, a molar, wow...
What if somebody accidentally elbows you in the face falls out and your teeth get knocked out? Sue them too? Jesus..
You go to NHS dentists, what do you expect? Dentists have different opinions etc, get used to it.
Theres always going to be another way of doing something, the thing is some dentists are not capable of it and some people cannot afford it.

But to tell me not even the best dentist in the world can fix it, when two others said they could have saved it, one in harley street and another in kensington, not even giving me the option.

Well they refused to give me the molar back after a long arguement asking for it back. so yer it all sounds a bit funny.

I cant imagine its uncommon either Tefal, Iv still got quite a few baby teeth, all my teeth are tiny.

mattheman you are clearly a complete freak and are very unreasonable, why on earth are you so obsessed with your teeth, you sound like an teenage american princess.

The only thing that sounds funny is you in this thread tbh, you are massively irrational, some dentists just want to get on with things and are no nonsense, they are dentists, you are not.

sorry iam not, i go to see one every 6 months to get info about the condition of my teeth, its the same as you go to a doctor to find out about health conditions. if found early all tooth problems can be fixed with out the need for drilling.

Dentists are to directed you " the right path" if they dont then they should'nt be in the health business, if they care more about profits then they should expect to be sued.

Firstly - it is possible to have a baby (deciduous) tooth in an adult, usually happens when the successor was missing.

Like someone has already said dentists are all different and one persons clinical opinion may be different to anothers. Some dentists like to try heroics and do anything to save a tooth, usually treatment is expensive and not even guaranteed.

Its hard to judge whether she is liable as I dont know what the tooth was like, but usually if the decay is subgingival then it is ready for the bin. Yes it is possible to save it but that would mean raising a flap, removing bone, doing the filling and then suturing it back. pretty lengthy and expensive for a tooth at the back of the mouth which isn't strategic.

If the dentist has to go to court, the case would be judged on what any other reasonable dentist would do - which in your case would be to extract the tooth, so apologies but i dont think you have a case.

Plus.....talking about toothpastes which 'heal' cavities in teeth is a load of bull. surely all dentists in japan are now signing onto the dole if this is the case?!?

/edit - on a final note, stop all the whinging, at the end of the day you shouldn't have eaten all those sweets.

I think scouse has pretty much hit nail on the head.
Get a grip, you grabbed it for evidence? You are plain mad.
Ermmm, you go see a dentist every 6 months to get into on the condition of your teeth, the same as I go to the doctor?

Im sorry but I go to the doctor when something is wrong, never any other times.
The doctor is a bit more of a serious thing than the dentist too, Iv visited the doc once in 2 years, last week to get my immunisations details as I need them for my next employer, Im smart, I take care of my teeth, If i get a problem I go to the dentist, if not Ill get a checkup every 2yrs.

Are you really 35? your spelling is a little off and your general attitude is somewhat immature.
At 35 dont you have better things to worry about than having one less tooth and a filling?

Nanoparticle Toothpaste passed just this year by japans dental association, you'll be seeing more of these tooth pastes.

The whole point not even offering me the chance and saying it can not be repaired, i would have paid for a repair at least even if it failed, i would have done everything possible to save it. like many cases when they say it cant be done and later on can be done.

Had my wisdom tooth on the same side extracted and frozen, for £900 just incase stem cell tooth regeneration hits the market later on in my life.
