A small editing process that offen doesn't get used on firework shots that i think tidies them up considerably is removing the glowing smokey look.
If you have photoshop, by pressing ctrl-l, you open the levels. By selecting the black inkdropper and selecting the glow around the fireworks, you effectively tell photoshop to cause anything with that shade to be black.
Like so, it works on even the most effected ones.
Sorry i haven't posted in a while I'm away at the mo and I'm just stealing 5min to check OCUK (sad I know..)
Anyways, I love the removal of the smoke, I hadn't thought of selecting the gray and telling PS to process it as black, top tip!
As for the settings I used, full manual. ISO = 100, Shutter speed = Bulb, Fstop = 11 - 16 depending on the brightness of the show, I know its hard to tell and you kind of have to guess. for the smaller ones I used a higher Fstop (F11 or so) and for the big bangs I used a smaller Fstop (16) so I could balance the light right.
I'm pleased with the way number 5 came out. just pure luck that one....
