OK my case comes with a cable to front headphone/mic sockets. The cable has a HD plug or a AC97 plug. I've tried plugging both of these into the Front panel audio connector (10-1 pin AAFP), and can't seem to get any where?

The sound continues to come out of the speakers, even when headphones are plugged in?

Any idea which connector for the cases front sockets is the correct one? HD plug or legacy AC97 plug?

Any idea how I get them to actually work?

Hey Neil,

have a dig around the audio control panel for some options relating to front panel audio . . .

Confirm that the actual case connectors conform to the same wiring pinouts as the motherboard headers that you'll be plugging them into. Motherboard and case manuals should help there.

It's a HD plug that fits perfectly into a HD plug on the MB?

It may fit but that doesn't mean that all of the wires are where they are supposed to be.

HD plug? That's a luxury - my Armor+ just has a bunch of individually-labelled wires. I hate FP connections :/

Either, you need to select whichever one, you want to use (HD or AC97) in the bios

It's set to HD, so I'm using the HD plug. I've downloaded the latest realtek drivers and will apply those and see what happens.

Also double check the actual wiring against the motherboard manual and the case manual if there is one.
