Oops - Data Recovery Method/Software Needed...

Like some kind of idiot, I managed to partially format a back up drive (which incidentally had the only existing copies of some work and things on at the time) by accidentally beginning to format it during an XP install.

Windows wants the drive to be fully formatted before it will allow any access to it (obviously), so is there any method I can use that will ensure happy times?

If all else fails then please feel free to send it to me and I'll recover the data for you forensically, free of charge. You can pay postage both ways :p
 
Cheers, I've got a couple of methods I think I need to try first, but I'll let you know how I get on. ;)

Just found most of it backed up on a usb drive which I'd forgotten about, I might be ok. All I'm missing (from what i remember) are my emails, which I might be able to live without.
