I'm loving the threaded SMS. It's great to be able to reply and look at the message converation with someone in a chat room style interface. I quite often forget half the stuff said in a previous message. Previously flicking back and reopening drafts etc was a pain in the ass.
Please tell me that can be disabled?

Or at least could you take a pic of it for me?

Could be a deal breaker :(:(:(

Went to Orange shop to have a look at this phone, again. They stil lhave not altered it as it comes out the box, a wasted op to sell the phone to poeple imo.

Also, the deal they had seemed a little high cost.

1200mins, 100texts, only 250meg a month interent use, £45 a month.... but i am only on PAYG with them, so no deals for me yet.

How is it with fims and music, no need to convert avi's or anything? cant see the pics you uploaded :(

I have played a couple of AVIs with Coreplayer and they're not completely smooth although very watchable. One was an unconverted LOL release of this week's Heroes ep.The sounds never breaks but there are video stammers so unfortunately you're going to need to convert your movies for silky playback.

The guys who make Coreplayer have said they're putting in full support for Qualcomm chipsets in a future release. Not sure on the significance of this or the potential impact though.

Just thought I would give my views on the phone after having a play with my one this weekend.

My experiance with Expansys UK has been excellent. On trying to charge the phone for the first time I discovered that it wasn't charging and that the charging part that goes into the wall is broken. So Expansys are sending me a replacement asap (tomorrow or wednesday).

As for the phone, I haven't done too much at the mo as I want to buy either a faster 8GB card or the 16GB card for installing stuff on. I love that you can play around with this device and tweak to ** hearts content. I would advise anyone who has this phone to go to the xda-devlopers/blackstone forum, they have a ton of useful info there.

I have down loaded Gyrator 2 to enable the screen to rotate in pretty much all apps and it is very responsive. I have then installed Touchpal which is a touch keypad and it seems very nice, takes a bit of getting used to but I am getting there. I haven't tested out the video or music yet as my pc is in bits as I have just moved, hopefully will test this soon.

About my only gripes at the mo are that Opera isn't wonderful, I have come from a 2G Iphone and have to say safari is a dream to use. Opera is usable but I will be keeping my eye out for an alternative.

And lastly the fact that when you are calling someone when you take the phone away from your ear for instance to use the keypad it doesn't come on, you have to press a button. I have just gotten used to this from the Iphone, I am sure I will get used to the HD way.

That's exactly what I thought before upgrading mine to Windows Mobile 6.1 but now I can't live without it. It's more of a deal maker :) you will get used to it very quickly. Because of the IM style, it suddenly makes you look so thoughtful as though you remember everything people said!

Got TomTom 7 working just great. Picks up about 5 satellites out on my patio within a minute and up to about 8 or 9 just after. This is a big improvement over my old SPV which took anything up to 5 or 6 minutes to get a lock.

Couple of photos and a video. As you can see, you're not going to win any photography awards with this camera. Video isn't great either, so you're not going to be able to see yourself very well in any homemade porn unless it's some real slow-mo tantric business :D

Eek, those are awful quality, like a Sagem phone from years back. :(

If any are waiting on o2's deal from mobiles.co.uk, they called me this morning saying they'd have them in either friday or monday.
Then again they've been saying that for a few weeks.

quick question, not about the HTC HD. but about the HTC Touch 3G. i have seen a lot of people mentioning battery life etc with the HTC's... but on the website, it says this phone on standby ( i think this means doing nothing) will do nearly 400 hours battery life? is this true or just saying this to sell it to me ? anyone with experience of the Touch 3G??

Strange, I was given the impression that they had the phones but couldn't send them out until they were 'network tested'.
I'm trusting them less as every day passes.

Maybe if you left it with screen off and no one rang or SMSd you for 400 hours. Still seems a bit optimistic

To continue the saga, they just sent me an email saying "we will have more news on the stock issue for the HTC Touch HD early next week."

This is taking the mick. I'm going to try to phone them tomorrow and if I don't get something concrete I'm cancelling the order and will get it from expansys.

I'll take a wild bet and say that you won't get anything concrete from them .... EVER! :)
