2nd hand car owners.

Lol...i **** you not. My MX5 used to be owned by a guy called Adam Gay. I had to go to the bank and request a banker's draft for Mr A. Gay. :D

So what you're saying is you've just contravened the data protection act. Then admitted it on a public forum ;)

Maybe, but as the data was publicly available at one point, and maybe still is, that's debatable.

Whether I should have access to the database at all is in the air too.

First owner of my car (I'm the second) was in the papers a couple of years ago for selling (agent, not owner) the most expensive house in Britain at that time (about £15 million IIRC). He wasn't happy when I got his unlisted phone number to ask how much damage the prang he'd had in the car had done...

Ford owned it first, then a year later a man with the surname Godbehere owned it till I bought it from him....I kid you not. I thought I had been done over when I saw him write his name out on the deposit slip.

Mine was owned by Benfield Motors in Newcastle as their demonstrator then by me from 3 months old.

Why does everyone here have a car owned by a dealer?

I'll bet the ones which everyone has been told were a "runaround" or "used by staff", are in fact ex demonstrators, or curtsy cars.

Salesmen at the local FIAT dealer can use the demonstrators as company cars.

My previous car was first owned and personally imported by a Director of a Daihatsu Garage in Kent.
