Ok i recently bought an HIS ICE-Q Raedon 4670 Turbo of the members market.

I installed vista on a new hard drive took the old one out so i had no previous drivers on my computer for this.

Im up to date on the catalyst and driver software.
When i run CSS,Half life 2 or NFS: Carbon i have no problems they all run at the highest settings avaliable.

When i play Fallout 3 i get these Grey images like below

Normally these images fill the whole screen and i cannot see much.

Anything i can do?
One person said my card was overheating could this be the problem?

Oh and btw the rest of my set up is

Intel core 2 duo e2220 2.4ghz
2Gb of ram
Vista Business 32 bit

Thanks Pat

Not sure, if its fine in other games but goes dodgy in Fallout 3, it could be a driver issue have you tried other drivers?
I was on a previous driver uninstalled it and got the latest driver from the HIS website.
Il wait till the next ccc update which is wednesday apparantly

Just out of interest, what sort of temperatures is it reaching when you get that distortion on Fallout (if you don't have a program to measure GPU temps, google GPU-Z and try that)?

That didnt work i took it down by half.

It only happens when lookin at opponents on the game it doesn't fill the screen like it used to.

Could it be something wrong with the game?

I had a couple of geometry artifacts on my 4850 with Fallout 3 during my playthrough.

Recently played all the way through Crysis and Warhead with the highest settings i could manage and never saw any issues at all, so i think there may be a bug with the ATI drivers or the Gamebryo engine. All the other games i tried with my 4850 are fine as well (Company of Heroes, Far Cry 2, STALKER Clear Sky).

I used to get similar artifacts in Everquest 2 with my old 9800pro and also in Mafia (that was fixed with a patch iirc) where certain polygons on characters would extend to infinity, so it may be a long running issue with ATI's drivers and/or certain hardware configs.

Is Fallout up to date? Sounds like it might be a problem related to the game. Maybe check Fallout support forums (if any exist) to see if other people are having this issue? If it really is Fallout, you may need to wait for a new patch (unless there is a workaround).

Edit: Try fiddling with he graphical options in Fallout. Turning of Anti-Aliasing is always a good place to start.
