Geforce GTX300

I still get excited about new hardware but it kinda sucks because theres no games even in development yet that need any better than what we have now.

That's a bit of a contradiction as your using SLI multi GPU to get what you need. :)

When everything can be played on a single GPU with 2560x1600 & hold 60fps minimum then nothing new will be needed for the time being.

The leakage is so bad that it won't reduce power consumption much, so the heat of these things will be too great to make them much quicker, unless the problem is fixed.

I have heard nothing about leakage problems, but if there are they have time to sort it before it needs to be used on a flagship card.

Yes that was exactly the story i was talking about, and even though The Inquirer is not a very reliable source, Intel did a lot of marketing to tell people that they did well in reducing lekage using High-K Gate, while TSMC is completely silent and has pushed back production extremely, to the point where they might not have the first 40nm cards before the 32nm chips from Intel, while they were recently talking about how much quicker they were.

Both nvidia and ati have totally new cards coming out at the end of the year so you would be better and wait and see what they both release.

Is that not a tad prudent? It's only March.. You could have nearly a full years good gaming on a 4870X2 or GTX295 by then..
