Bush shoes thrower... THREE years in prison!

but your talking about a justice system that treats criminals as criminals, not like this nanny state of ours that says criminals cant help it , its not their fault ......

Bit hard to compare our laws and resulting sentences to that, it's an Arab country. It's an offence according to the article on the BBC.

edit - as ^ says

I'm sure there's a Family Guy clip waiting to be made where the shoe scores and sense befalls him.

I suppose we should all have sympathy with Bush, I mean you have to think about what it's like to have the shoe on the other foot..

I'm comparing the ridiculous (here) with the ridiculous (there)...

Seriously... THREE years in prison for chucking a pair of shoes (badly)! Mumma!

Yeah because throwing a shoe at someone deserves a 3 year jail sentence !
Get real! We have one of the best justice systems in the world imo!

Very harsh considering it was a first offence. Apparently the judge showed leniency because of this - he could have gone down for 15 years

That said, we must respect other people's cultures.

I don't know, throwing a shoe (regarded as one of the highest insults there) at the LEADER of another country, yeah, I think some jailtime is in order.

They should give him double or nothing... give him another chance at hitting Bush betwixt the eyes or he goes down for 6 years.

IMO Bush could have got the upper hand by asking that the guy be pardoned. That would have made the shoe-thrower look like a complete knob and maybe got Bush a bit of Kudos... but I'm not sure how their legal system functions.

The sentence does seem a little harsh - though I suspect that when the shoe thrower threw the shoe, he had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen. . . you'd be a bit silly not to wouldn't you?
