Cheltenham Festival 2009 - 10/11/12/13 March

Had a few small winners today but nothing special, and nothing to make me break even either! Just thinking about my bets for tomorrow. Any hot picks?

Anybody else going to the Gold Cup on friday? Have had my ticket for a few months, living just over the road from the racecourse its about time i went! Looking forward to a fun day/night!
 
I haven't had much time to do proper write-ups, but best I've had was Punchestowns 2nd in the World Hurdle today. Haven't had a bet myself, but my dad had £25 e-w on Big Buck's at 6/1 and Imperial Commander at 6/1, both won returning a whopping £1,381.

My picks

1.30 - Zaynar (9/2)
2.05 - Cockney Trucker (7/1)
2.40 - Weapons Amnesty (10/1)
3.20 - Neptune Collonges (11/2)
4.00 - Kappa Bleu (5/1)
4.40 - Big Eared Fran (9/2)
5.15 - My Petra (9/1)

The first 6 I'll be doing in a placepot. Will probably have a few other bets, involving the above selections.
 
Who's everyone backing in the big one today? Thinking of backing exotic dancer personally 20-1 at the moment. Should be a good day though, just dreading my bank balance tomorrow :o:p:D

Exotic dancer or barber shop are decent shouts. The race is far too unpredictable to back anything with any degree of certainty!

20-1 for Exotic Dancer!? You're having a laugh.

I can't make my mind up about this race, it's driving me mad. Every time I try and make a decision I remember another horse. Barbers Shop could be a decent each way shout however, and of the favourites I personally want to see Denman win it again after his health problems.

2.05 - Sunnyhillboy @ 15/2
4.40 - Big Eared Fram @ 5/1

cant decide on any others yet!!! just reading through all these posts doesnt help either :P
 
Ive just withdrawn £650 of profit from the week yet im still a little disappointed. Most of it was won on the first day with just the odd one here and there since. I nearly lumped on Kauto when he hit 9/4 but bottled out! Damn!
 
£650 is good mate! don't be sad or greedy :)

i got confused as i was using quidco and then joining betting sites to get free bets, but seemed to do ok over the week, nowhere near your tally though buddy

3rd (17/2)
1st (8/1)
4th (8/1)
1st (11/2)
3rd (4/1)

Needed 3rd in the Gold Cup for the placepot at a fiver..

Would've returned £3,280 :mad::mad::mad:

Did £20 e-w on Neptune Collonges, the only one not to be placed :rolleyes:

Ach i know im just being greedy. Im off work with a bad back just now, ive always been a keen gambler but cos i have the time on my hands ive paid more attention and ive made the same amount as i would from working over the last 7 weeks! Makes ya wonder!

I joined a couple of new sites this week for the free bets and it worked out ok, i have a £50 stake not returned free bet sitting in an account and i need a bet to put it on! Any thoughts welcomed!

Jenson Button for the Australian GP? Sounds mental, I know, but the Brawn cars were 1 second a lap faster than anything in testing the other day. He opened at 12/1, and is now 3/1 favourite for the race. Bookies could well get stung there, as McLaren are just not good enough, only cars that may challenge are Ferrari and BMW.
