Bush shoes thrower... THREE years in prison!

three years u gott be kidding, more like 1 month community service.

we need a guinee pig to do the same against gordon brrown.. :)
i bet u wont get 1 monrh, (hell i will do it syself lol...............

i think i'm actually with iraq on this one with regards to difference in sentencing. Attempting to assault a foreign dignitary should have a pretty harsh sentence.

Hmm... Not sure if the words Bush and dignitary can be used (metaphorically) in the same sentence surely :)

Well at least he was the sole attacker, if there had been multiple assailants this whole thing have been turned into a much more serious ishoe. I think the guy should have employed a trainer to show him how to throw properly before he decided to have a go, he missed by a good foot at least. Besides, there must be some more Hi-Tec ways of delivering a message than that, big insult or no. Oh well, a prison sentence like that will bring anyone to heel, and he should be glad his tounge wasn't removed.

He's lucky he didnt do it over here,

A- Because being of middle eastern descent it would be all the galant members of our security forces could do to restrain themselves from shooting him regardless of if he did anything or not.

B- see A.

Yes because middle eastern guys are being shot all the time in the UK aren't they?

but your talking about a justice system that treats criminals as criminals, not like this nanny state of ours that says criminals cant help it , its not their fault ......

Bit hard to compare our laws and resulting sentences to that, it's an Arab country. It's an offence according to the article on the BBC.

edit - as ^ says

This.

Remember their punishments are far harsher.

You can get someone killed in the UK and receive less prison time, this is pretty ridiculous to be honest. I've no doubt that this was an early indication of Iraq's willingness to use disproportionate sentences.
