Counter-Strike Player Kills 15 People In Real Life

Well, let's face it, Counter-Strike probably affected him adversely, but that was probably due to tendencies that was already there. Do video games affect people? Yes, they do. Does playing a game that involves killing people mean you will go out and kill people? No, but it will affect some people in a negative way - as we can see here. Of course that is speculation, there's no way to 100% say that it was because he played CSS that he killed those people.

Should we ban violent video games? No.
Should we be aware that they do have an affect on people? Yes.
Should we be more aware when a person close at hand has issues? Yes.
Should we be concerned that his father has several firearms, including ones that are not secured? Yes.
Should we be aware that people will blame video games, rather than the fact that he had access to guns? Yes!

Had this person not had access to guns, chances are he wouldn't have been physically able to cause the destruction that he did. Surely that is more pertinent than he played a game which involved killing terrorists and counter-terrorists? (as opposed to children in schools)

The teen apparently took the weapon from his father’s collection of 15 firearms along with a “multitude of ammunition,” police said. His father was a member of the local gun club and kept all the weapons locked away except for the pistol, which was kept in the bedroom.

Father should definitely be slapped for not securing the firearm let alone the "cache of ammunition" stashed at the school.

A dad hardly expects his kid to nick the gun and shoot innocent people though.

I agree, but why take the chance its not worth the heartache of a firearm getting into the wrong hands. Firearms should be kept at a club in a secure armory not in the ****ing home!

I blame valve and there stupid mp_dynamicpricing variable, if the "Real world server" had mp_dynamicpricing 1 then this guy couldn't have afforded to buy a deagle at $16,000 or an ak47 at $16,000 a pop.

jeez someone should tell an admin.
