knowing the next rack

A random one here. Okay so if I'm listening to an album, during the middle of any particular song I'd have no idea what song comes next, but as soon as the song is over (before the start of the next one) I instantly know which is next (obviously for albums I've heard before).

Why is that? Is it just a feature of our memory or something?

Edit yes I meant track and not rack in the subject line lol

Hm. Maybe you are just so immersed in the song, that it is only when it ends that you start to think about what comes next.

I guess that applies to the most of us. You play a game for 2 hours, then when you have had enough, you quit (thinking what to do next in the meantime).
