In my own little world
He seems to be sat in his comfort zone with no enthusiasm for success and continually making excuses about still having confidence in his young team. He also seems overly confident his team will win trophies again despite not having won anything in 4 seasons now. Why does he constantly rely on youth when proven quality could enhance his team.

I'm not an Arsenal fan but it seems he's taken the side as far as he can go and the fans are starting to see this. Do you think it's time he moved on if Arsenal are to crack the top 3 again ?

He's a fantastic manager however i do think he sticks to his principles too often and Arsenal have suffered because of it.

He's a victim of his own reputation of buying young and mainly unproven players. He obviously believes a lot in his players and that is to be commended, but a lesson is to be learned from Man Utd fans calling for Ferguon's resignation years ago, myself included. He's gone on to make a fool of a lot of people, he had a plan, it wasn't immediate, fans grew impatient and wanted change. And now look, he's assembled a team that could go on and win back to back Premiership and Champions League trophies. I think the very fact that Wenger said that being beat 3-1 at home against Man Utd in the Champions League was the worst night of his career, that it has finally dawned on him that he needs to change things and this summer fans will probably see him dip into the transfer market and if he doesn't, questions have to be raised about whether they have the money.

Total madness to even suggest he should move on. I say sack him and watch them move further down the table. The players that are there will move on if he goes. He's the draw there, the reason why players would consider arsenal in the first place.

He needs a 30-40 million transfer kitty this summer to get back into the top 3 and compete for the title.

The fact he got to 2 cup semi's and has cantered to 4th in the league with less funding and a smaller team show the genius of the man. Lets not forget for a large part of last year they looked like they could win the title.

Some of the best players in the world leave arsenal over the years and doom is predicted, yet despite not having the money of others Arsene remains loyal and consistent to arsenal. Thats the reason they are 4th this year and not 7th or 8th.

Sack Arsene, Arsene walks into another job. Real madrid until the united job becomes available. If Arsene goes you can kiss goodbye to the quality players they already have.

Chances are if city buy big even 4th might fall away from arsenal.

I asked before and got no answer, who the hell would go there anyway. I wouldn't want to follow him, if it didn't go right instantly the fans would get the arse and you would be going through a period of multi managers in a few years.

You never sack a manager of that consistency whose bought success. I remember after Chelseas titles many turned on sir alex and look how thats turned out since being proclaimed too old and past it.

He will (must) head into the transfer window this summer. And get rid of the deadwood at the club. As I said in the other thread, in previous years, the squads were big enough such that if a youngster was crap, he'd get sold, or if good enough - he'd stay and improve due to the experience and quality already in place.

There's not that this season, and as such e.g. Cesc's development has somewhat fallen flat as he's had nobody to improve on. And people who just aren't good enough e.g. Denilson and Diaby have been allowed to stay.

There are lots of other factors as well, we play in the fastest league in the world, this is going to entail certain problems with physique and as such him choosing smaller, technically sound players is backfiring. Apart from Toure, there's nobody in the team that will go and tackle an opponent with their teeth baring. It's weird that Wenger noted this as soon as he came to England, and even predicted Owen's downfall, but years later the football's similar, yet his transfer policy seems to have gone awry.

All in all it's stupid to say he should move on. There are few better.

It will come together, we just need 2-3 quality EXPERIENCED players and we'll be back there. We weren't that far off last season until the collapse.

I heard they were missing the repayments on their ground but then if that were true where's all their money going as obviously Arsene isn't spending it lol

He's bought in some very good talent but young talent can only grow if they've got the experience to learn from. i just dont see his current policies taking the club any further so unless he changes they're not going any where. He needs to spend big in the summer

With a bit of luck he would have won the Champions League a few seasons back and we would have won the League last season.

Football's a funny old game.

Wenger won't get sacked. The talk this summer will be the takeover.

It seems to me that the league has changed and Arsene simply refuses to do the same.
But sacking a manager is only helpful if you are able to bring someone in who is better.
And apart from the special one, theres no sure things out there.

The youth players are incredible, he's giving them experience, most players their age will be in League 1 or 2. But they are playing in the CL.

However as an Arsenal fan I am also getting rather tired of it.

The players are there it's just about tweaking it. I would like to see a proven striker and a good holding midfielder and a creative midfielder. Maybe a good CB aswell.

The problem is that we got Theo sprinting down the wings and getting crosses in, but nobody's there! There's no height in the squad which is why we concede in set pieces so much and dont make use of the crosses or the set pieces we get.

We are also lacking speed in the strike force, Walcott isn't playing up front so we've got Ade and VPersie up there who aren't fast enough.

If we had Henry back it would be imense, Fabregas could play the through balls and hhe would be away.

I respect Wenger for giving the kids a chance but there isn't anyone motivating the team. Fabregas isn't a captain for our side, We need someone to speak up. Against Man U we needed a captain taht will get everyone back on their feet and fighting again.

I would like to see:

A fast striker, proven and experienced.
A good defensive midfielder.
A good CB.

Everything else is brilliant. We got good wingers, V.Persie is very skillfull and has the power which would work well with a pacey striker.

Our R&LB's are brilliant. Our CB need to be slapped round the face and learn to deal with something themselves.

Taller players would be helpfull, just to give us an aerial threat.

I would make v.Persie captain as he actually yells at people and tries to get them moving.

Which from what i have been reading and hearing is that he does have a lot of money to throw around...Arsenal are pretty well of considering the likes of Chelsea who just throw money around in the vain attempt to win something...which is fsir enough i suppose.
But i dont know if the Arsenal board are willing to spend big money on players or not.

Sure hes got us 4th place and a CL place for next yr...well qualifying rounds etc...2 cup semi's but the simple and plain fact is that we HAVE NOT won anything for the past 4 yrs and its no joke that a lot of Arsenal supporters are getting fed up of Wengers incessant need for nurturing young talent. Nothing wrong with that as he seems to have the midas touch but honestly how many more seasons do the Arsenal supporters have to wait before we start winning things??. Sure Fabregas and the other players stay because of Wenger but im sure they must be getting fed up as they want to be successful.

I dont know what to make of Arsenal, i love them and support but not to a fanatical state:p...but im getting fed up of seeing a certain northern team yr in and yr out win everything thats put in front of them:(.

As for him moving on??..nope that would be silly of Arsenal to sack or let him go...we wouldnt have a chance against teams like liverpool, Chelski and Man Utd if Wenger left...that wouldnt be the solution...the solution in my eyes is get rid of a few players who arent performing ie Bendtner and Adebayor imo...and get into the transfer window this summer and buy some quality EXPERIENCED players who are used to winning things...its not like Arsenal cant afford them or anything....perhaps an issue with wages but im sure they work something out. I just really wished that we had bought Arshavin earlier in the season...hes a great signing along with Nasri.

Im again hoping for better things next season...hopefully injuries wont ruin our season like they did this yr. Will be interesting to see Eduardo and Rosicky back in the team fully fit...if they can manage to get fit that is.

I'm sure they are incredible but I've been hearing that for years about Arsenal's kids, it's past time their potential was met.

You really think there'll be a takeover Gooner? I read somewhere the other day that the big parties in the shareholdings (Kroenke/Usmanov/Fitzman) are actually trying their best to avoid hitting the 25% Must-Takeover-Now mark as their wallets are feeling the recession.

Who thinks he made a big boob letting Henry go??

As the case is now, perhaps.

However at the time, no it was a sound decision. Henry was miserable and moody. He wasn't performing on the pitch, he'd just been through a divorce as well. He was also carrying a spinal injury that we didn't sort out. It's easy to say looking at how poor e.g. Ade is that Henry is missed, but that last season he was here, wasn't good for either the fans or him.

We need a clinical striker, one we sort of sometimes see when Eduardo's fit. Henry lets not forget needed then, and still does now - a lot of chances to score.

From what I heard the stadium build scuppered his transfer budget for a few years. It should be paid off soon and then they will reap the rewards. Per head, the stadium is the most profitable in Europe so if it is close to or full for the games Arsenal will have bundles to spend.

The trouble is, from what I hear, that's not going to be for another 10 years or so

So ask yourself, what do you want short term success and a huge debt but win the CL or someone helping the club through a period of time when you have little money.

Arsene himself said when the emirates was first talked of that it meant he would have no money. Did he up sticks and find another club, no. He protects the board from flak but not moaning about a lack of funds. He never brings up arsenals shortcomings as a lack of money from the board.

He's a class act a I hope he leaves when the fans start ringing in radio shows moaning. Rip through 4 managers is 2 or 3 years and then beg for him to return.

I'd just love it if the fans moaning gets him removed and he takes of fergie at united ;)
