That's right up there on my list of films never to watch again along with Failure to Launch, Crazy Beautiful and Never Been Kissed. Long haul flights are to blame for half those films* - why can't we just teleport to places.....
As for quite a good film but that could possibly be a chick flick (a very acerbic one at that) - Election is a good choice starring a young Reese Witherspoon and it's a film that belies the common belief that Chris Klein is outacted by a piece of 2x4.
*yes, they are all chick flicks that your daughter might like going on what you've said but Get Over It, Bring It On and 10 Things I Hate About You are all better - the first and last of those are (very) loosely based on Shakespeare stories (A Midsummers Nights Dream and The Taming Of The Shrew respectively).
Are you looking for teen-style romance movies, or just generic chick flick? For the former I'd add She's All That, Cruel Intentions, The Wedding Singer. Otherwise I'd recommend Pretty Woman, The Notebook and almost anything with Hugh Grant - Love Actually, Notting Hill, Four Weddings, Bridget Jones, About A Boy etc...
EDIT: Along the lines of Mamma Mia there's Chicago and Moulin Rouge.
