Haven't seen that was posted on the 8th June have you?
I have all the flu symptoms and since I'm 21, doctor isnt prescribing tamiflu. So guys remember to sue my doctor when I die. Today is my 3rd day with symptoms and it is getting slightly better with fever and annoying headaches gone. I have been in contact with someone with suspected with swine flu, and combined with the fact I have never had anything beyond a cough and runny nose in at least the last 5 years it is quite likely its the new strain.

I work in the same building as the NHS walk in centre in Newcastle-under-lyme and there is a sign on the door leading in that says:
"STOP! If you have flu like symptoms return home and phone NHS direct on ...."
Is this a general NHS concern to stop it spreading or is it more to do with the staff?
Apparently it is now endemic in humans or will be at least after the initial spreading phase finishes. Just like other common flus, it will exist in humans for a long time. Everyone will either get the flu and build up natural immunity like we have growing up as kids with common flus, or get immunity via tha vaccine so that we experience next to no symptoms if we were to get it again. The NHS are probably hoping to get the vaccine to vulnerable groups before it spreads on a very large scale.

As I understand it they are hoping to have a vaccine out before winter.

13 of which had other serious co-morbidities and one of which we dont have enough information about to make any judgement and bearing in mind that 1000's die every year from "normal flu". Read the whole thread and sit down.

Yes something that has already been stated and clarified, stating it again was irrational.
Still I think it is premature to be definitively saying that mortality rates are similar or even better. The strain has yet to spread on a scale similar to other flus. Once it infects older people with no immunity whatsoever, the result could be very different from seasonal flu where they would at least have some immunity.

I do appologise you are correct the number wasnt used, but the point was made frequently, and its wrong, so far only one of 10,000 affected people may possibly...maybe have actually died of swine flu in this country.
I do take on board your point about the over-reaction of the general public though, and yes granted it is only likely to kill if there are serious underlying problems.

Well, my wife has officially been diagnosed with Swine Flu this afternoon 
She previously got pneumonia from flu years ago and only has 40% of ONE Kidney working so I have got her on 24hr watch at home. The Tamiflu is arriving in the morning so fingers crossed she will only suffer the 'mild' symptoms that many others are. I can only pray that nothing will come secondary to this illness.
So for those keyboard warriors that are sat there saying 'Oh, its only Swine Flu ffswtfwah', just think of those that have a higher chance of becoming severly ill from something that will only give a tickle of a cough to you.
