Will You Buy Windows 7???

Me personlly love Vista, yes there was some problems on first release but thats always been the case with all Windows systems and its to be expected.
a lot of people see Vista as an ME 2(which I dont agree it is) due to bad press and not trying for themselves, others trying to run it on their ageing Celeron 800mhz PCs with 512mb ram or people who simply do not like change.

Probably not, A and B are legacy letters for Floppy style (haaaaaaaaaaahahahahah floppy!) diskettes :p

It's just a drive letter anyway :p

If you had a ZIP drive you may well have encountered the B drive :p

ZIPs were awesome, 100MB of storage :D

Lol! :D Is that on your current rig ? :o

Nah had them in the past though. Currently I don't have any floppy drives at home. At work though some machines still have them, and every now and then someone asks you to retrieve something off a floppy. I don't think I've used mine in 5yrs or more at this point. We have some legacy machines DEC Alphas and old 386/486 machines than need them though. We've some applications/servers that have been running 18yrs or more. So we havn't got rid of floppies yet! Lol.

Why would you want to? I use floppy disks as tea coasters

Im duel booting Vista and XP, needed a floppy drive to put a Intel driver on because of my SATA drives. So I have Vista on one drive and XP on the other.

I haven't had a drive in my PC for 2 years...but I hadn't used them for about 3-4 years before that. Do anyone even use floppys anymore (that really shouldn't have brought a smile to my face!)?
I do, they provide a simple and safe way to flash a motherboard BIOS - yes, you can also do it with a bootable USB drive, but it usually involves extra messing about.

That's not to say I'd bother installing a floppy drive if I didn't have a few of them kicking around anyway...

Vista is not a problem with SP2. It just needs higher system reqs to run at a fast enough pace. Windows ME was plagued with BSODs, driver bugs and crashing/freezing issues. None of these issues affect Vista so it has no resemblance to ME at all.

I didn't say it was the same literally but "bit of a Windows Me situation" in that most people are skipping it. Personally I'm of the same opinion.

I've been running it on 2 decent spec laptops on/off for almost two years. I can't agree. Lots of niggles, poor performance, randomly takes ages to do the simplest of things for no reason. W7 just doesn't have these issues. Like I said earlier neither has anything I need over XP. Other then the extra ram.

Just out of interest, is everyone here getting Home Premium E [or at least the E edition of whatever version]? Is that the only one available apart from N?

The UK gets E edition, N edition is for another region that has no IE or WMP so yeah, we all went for E :p
