I've had both the CX500's and the CX300's.

The 500's are VERY bassy. The 300's sound more natural but the quality of the 500's are better.

I just bought some CX300 II's for £15 and they're fantastic, really worth every penny. I've now got the problem that they bring out the flaws in many of my older MP3s so i'm now going to have to re-rip them at a higher bitrate, not exactly a flaw in the headphones though.

CX300 II's are amazing for such a cheap price, literaly they out perform anything in their own price range.

Can't comment on the EX90's but the EX85's are NOT worth the money, they were my last headphones and the differance between them and the CX's is massive, the EX's are much bigger, much less comfortable and the cable is less durable, also the sound quality is very average.

So, my suggestion, get the CX300 II's if you want some awsome headphones for very little money.

I just picked up a pair of the CX500 series, I agree with the bass side being very loud. But for £14.99 from a reputable store you can't go wrong. There are lots of fakes out there as well. :)
