Off to watch the F1 at the end of october with the old man but we're going to be there for a few days either side. Neither of us have ever been there so I am just wondering if there are any 'must dos' whilst there?

Don't go drinking outside of the hotels....
Don't have any traces of drugs on you or your person or luggage.... (Don't carry £5 notes)
Don't have any carnal knowledge of any of the locals....

Enjoy yourself.

I just got back from 9 days in Dubai - had a fab time. It was actually better in Ramadan than it is the rest of the year because the obnoxious Russians stay away.

Burj Al Arab is a sight to see. Wild Wadi/Atlantis water parks are a good laugh. Large shopping malls - skiing. Plus isn't the tallest building in the world due to open shortly?

I live in Abu Dhabi, it's a nice place, but I wouldn't really say there are must do things here, most of the big attractions are in Dubai. Enjoy the sun and the warm water, I suppose the city will be going pretty crazy though with the F1 so there will be plenty of things to do. Shopping centres are ok, better in Dubai though, but just go to look, much more expensive than the UK. Malls in Dubai have some great eye candy aswell!

Liking the look of some of that :)

Should have said, the old man is the wrong side of 65 so waterparks are out, shame as they look pretty awesome :D

Really looking forward to it!

Waterparks are fine for young and old - they are not crazy mad like you'd expect. There are some gentle rides too, that's what I do.

Wild Wadi 100%, its brilliant, theres one mall which is just huge but I cant remember the name:( it has different sections that are decorated like each continent.

Edit: lol should read through the thread before posting, leave him at a spa for a bit and go on ur own.;)
