Wasn't sure if this was suited for GD or Sports so played it safe in here.

Awesome story:

THIS is the moment an amateur golfer went wild after scooping a cool $1million in a hole-in-one competition.
Restaurant manager Jason Hargett ran out on to the fairway and collapsed as a crowd behind him cheered his incredible 150 yard shot-of-a lifetime.

The 35-year-old only entered a "get a hole-in-one, win $1 million!" on a par three charity contest in Utah, US, at the last minute.

And with organisers estimating the odds of anyone doing it at one in 45,000, Jason thought he had no chance.

But to everyone's amazement the lucky dad-of-two hit a wonder shot using a nine-iron to walk away with the prize.

Jason said he didn't feel any pressure when he made the shot because no-one expected him to get it in.

He added: "You go up, and it's not something you expect to make. It feels good to be a millionaire!"

Its not 150 carry and straight into the hole though, its probably 120 carry and then bounced rolled into the hole

You get lucky in the US with the rules of golf. If that competition was run over here, you would have to make the choice of losing your amateur status for at least 2 years (meaning you cant enter any club competitions etc) and playing off a scratch handicap with a professional status or giving all the money to chairty. In the US they made a provision for amateur golfers to be allowed to play in hole-in-one competitions without losing their amateur status.

Nice shot though. Been close a few times (about 2-3 inches) but never actually scored one in 2.5yrs of golf.

Did you watch the video?

The ball landed behind the hole and rolled BACKWARDS into it, not forwards.

Lol, sorry nope I didn't even open the link, just saw the distance and club.

Edit: having watched it, it looks like it bounced before the green and the green is sloped back to front and hence rolled up the green around and down?
