Car exhaust - free "sports" sound

Hi all,

Over the last 2 weeks my vectra has got more of a deeper noise to it.
I think the exhaust is nuked.

Apart from the sound when looking at the exhaust it looks all black hardly surprising I think it is broken.

Just out of interest how much should it cost for a new exhaust? and how much of a danger is it driving my car like it is now?

You don't need to replace the whole exhaust if you don't want to - just the section with a hole in. Replacing my back box was £80 or similar. No dangers to not getting it done afaik,except a policeman may tell you off/do bad things!

............and not to mention the exhaust fumes that can make their way into the cabin area from a holed exhaust.....

I always use a failed section as a reason to get a stainless cat-back made up. £250 to £300 on one of those I reckon.

it appears that it is broken at the very back of the exhaust.

I'll probably just get that bit replaced it has to be that.

Most cars this is just the manifold and front pipe. There are a few exceptions, but the Vecra isn't one of them
