Bungie needs new graphics designers...
 
I can't see how people are wetting themselves over that trailer. There's nothing in there that indicates this game isn't just more of the same.

Halo has such a hardcore following that your point doesn't really matter. It could be a pile of crap and people will still lap it up and buy it on release (same goes for other games series, but Halo seems to attract a very hardcore obsessive audience, kind of like Star Trek).

Hmm, I suppose I used to be the same. I was a massive fan of Halo after the first game but since Halo 2, I really am not bothered with it. There's nothing exciting about playing in the the Halo universe any more.

It also attracts a very hardcore obsessive group who love shoot the game down at every opportunity.
 
All I know is that it is set before any of the other Halo games and therefore should have lots and lots of Spartans running around. Tis another FPS game.

The battle for the planet at the very start of Halo:CE, the hub planet for Humanity's military, where the Spartans were trained and based, where 15 of the 23 Spartans that fought there died trying to hold back the Covenant, before Master Chief jumped away to the first Halo ring

He wont be in it, except for maybe a cameo, as he didn't fight on Reach, he left aboard Pillar of Autumn to go to the first Halo

Fred 104 will command the Spartans on Reach, at least he should be, unless they've re-written the story again.

I hope they stay true to 'The Fall of Reach'

Well he does come back when the planet is partially glassed. Can't see the game ending when the glassing begins as not a lot occurs on the ground before that, apart from the battle of the generators.

Bit of a shame in a way, as I would've liked some new story. Can't really see them expanding on anything that occurs in the book, as anything the player discovers would've been covered in the book surely!

As for this game having a hardcore following.... I'd say not a lot further than any other multi-part game franchise with novel-based side adventures. Gears of War has the same sort of thing occuring. It's just a bit of fiction to get lost in!
