Hi,
Anyone know what the cheapest insurance company is for young new drivers?
I'm 21 and only passed my test 2 months ago, i need to buy a car mailny for travelling to and from work when i finally find a job.
I've been looking at vauxhall corsa's and the cheapest quote is about £1700 with vauxhall.
any good places i should look? before rushing into it.

They all vary significantly based on your criteria, try all the price comparison websites and get quotes direct from the places that come up cheapest, generally Elephant/Admiral, Direct Line, Adrian Flux and Churchill can be good.

Elephant Admiral and Bell (all the same company underneath it all) have repeatedly proven to be the cheapest for me. I used Admiral last year, and Bell this year and both have been a good £300 pound cheaper than anyone else can come out. Definately worth giving them a try.

The best tip I can give you is just to try banging your details in on a comparison site, and going to the top five or ten directly to see if they can do any better.

Hope it helps.

my quote from vauxhall was just from gocompare, I'll take a look at the ones that aren't on their. i'd forgot what some of them where so was sort of asking that too.

I'd not thought of that, calling direct with the other quotes they may be able to do me some kind of deal.

Comparison sites are just comical.

I put all my details in and the cheapest quote was about £900. I've just paid £620.

When I was 17 the best price came from Directline, but since then Admiral/Bell have been the cheapest by quite some margin.

Another vote for the three above. Have been insured with Bell for the last three years as they were the best quote I could find from anyone.
