Sun pays £30,000 damages to Muslim bus driver accused of fanaticism

The bus company, London General, has had a word with the driver as this is not something that should be happening.

Only a word, I would have thought that the boot was appropriate.

So.....

What are your thoughts on this OP?

It is an offence to leave a vehicle with the engine running,
Contrary to regulation 107(1) of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
:p

Mother-of-one Miss Griffiths, 33, of Camden, north-west London, had boarded the bus a few minutes earlier on her way home from work.

She says that she even feared at the time that the driver might be a fanatic planning to blow up the bus.

HAHAHAHAHA

maybe he broke the speed limit and had to pray to Allah for forgiveness?
It could make a great THINK! speeding add.

That's pretty much all of the bus drivers around here in trouble then. Since all of them take their time swapping buses and even leave sometimes for a cigarette!

HAHAHAHAHA

While that was my initial reaction, the more i think about the more i would tend to agree. I dont live in london but i can empathise with the fear of seeing the driver pull over and start praying on a bus with passengers in... fanatics are known to pray before setting off bombs, and its not a normal thing for a driver to do.

My personal opinion is that this guy was doing it for a stunt, or to make some stupid point or to try and get fired then sue for discrimiation or some such nonsense.

Some of the passengers thought he was a terrorist but they did nothing.

Well he was very lucky then, would have taken one "brave" person to take action.

Its also very rude to hold peoples up by 5 minutes without a word of explanation or warning.
