well the 5970s run pretty hot (reminds me of 4870x2), so too get a good oveclock without water is pretty hard.

steveo_crossfire some other 5970 BE owner managed 1000/1400 stable on water

Why whats up with the display port? You meaning the adaptor? If so thats an easy fix.

Yeah, i need a displayport to dvi adaptor. Need to purchase on from overclockers but they're bloody 80 quid..

Not to upset anyone but there are cheaper things out there. I just use the apple one. Got it from the Bay for about £30.

I will confirm you can use the ACTIVE apple mini dport to dvi adapter.

I have both Sapphire and apple adapters and they both work.

I paid 80 notes for my Sapphire one but the apple one I got for about 40 off ebay.

Question guys.

I was considering getting another of these 5970's for crossfireX.

My machine is a i7 920 @3.6, 6gb ddr3 tri chan.

Would it acctually be worth doing so or would the cpu bottleneck be too high ?

Think it would be fine, I would crank that 920 to 4.2ish and see what happends.

New water block turned upto day have a Vantage score for you all.

It's on a H50 cooler mate, do you think i could get that far? It idles at 37-42 degress as it is

H5 should be ok, Whats your full load temps? If there a bit high try fitting a 2nd fan so its push pull.

Not sure about c0s but have seen the others around 4.2 on air.

Royal mail. They are crap it was only going up the road, and it was sent first class! tossers.

Got one fitted for push pull!

It maxes around 65 degrees or so. NEVER seen it above

OcUK did my original overclock so might need to have a look at some tutorials on pushing it to that 4.2..

You tube is the best place to start, take it slowly till you reach about 75c full load. I have had this 860 to 4.768 but was getting very hot evan with my cooler.
