Car insurance nightmare

I can't believe it, I managed to get a quote for £1520.31 from Bell. Fantastic, aslong as they don't go bust within the next two months!:D:D:D

You people need to read the thread. He has tried.

He gives the details he is entering also.

All you can do is try everyone! Take some time but someone will give you a half decent quote somewhere

Are these quotes fully comp, or third party fire and theft? Must be out of touch as they seem insane unless you live in a war zone

Fully Comp is more expensive in my experience. You have to fiddle with the variables on the RANDOM INSURANCE QUOTE GENERATOR 2000 to get a favourable output.

Had the licence about 10 and a half months I think, so when I get the car in two months it will be a year. How much difference does it make?

Halved it for me (if not more!).

And as mentioned, Remember to add parents + Grandparents as named drivers

try a different car... VW lupos - seat arosas come cheapest for me.. fiesta never was the cheap one.. and try bell.co.uk gives the best quotes to me.. and i've had them as low as £1995 in high risk london area..

If you read my post above I said I got a quote from bell which was about £1700. Wasn't expecting it this cheap.:D

Both my mum and miss's are on my policy.

Miss's could use the car at any time but she's too scared too drive it (Focus ST) and my I wouldn't let my mum touch it with a barge pole! Infact if she did touch it with a barge pole i'd slap her!

Not quite in the same league as you lot but something stunned me last week when trying to insure the E36.
Got a quote off RAC (who I was currently with)
500 and something
After a little chat about how expensive it was I said I'm already insured with them on another car and she said she maybe able to amalgamate the deal and get a cheaper price but I was talking to the wrong department.
I was put through to another bloke and had to go through with a whole fresh quote...
200 MORE expensive. How the **** did that work!

im preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty sure that wont be happening soon :) if you check what other interests admiral group have running and also the recruitment drive they have over the last 2 years they pretty steady at the moment, plus their share prices have been increasing over the last few weeks/months

One other thing you could try is giving a low estimated mileage and limiting the use of your car slightly. A couple of years back I managed to drop my quote by about £300 by changing from 10k per year down to 6k per year. In the end I only did about 4k that year so could have dropped it even further!
