A very expensive day for this owner of the VXR, i cant imagine how much that heli ride to the local hospital cost. Owner and passenger both fine thank god :)

guys,

i thank most of u who are concerned about the well being of all involved in the crash, it was indeed me, i was driving my car on the ring,as u can see in the video i was entering the corner to fast so driver error is to blame.i got airlifted as precaution as they suspected a broken neck, even tho i walked out they sed shock could hav made the body respond with panick! however,im fine, cuple scratches on my head, bits of glass decided to move into my skin,n a savage case of whiplash. my friends are also fine, alex has whiplash to.

car is as u can see a write off, shes in a bad state, im awaitin a date to be able to collect her. its 300kms from me.

I MUST ADD THAT THE PEOPLE ON HERE THAT GOB OFF SAYIN I HAV MAXIMUM POINTS NEED TO GET THERE FACTS RIGHT. LIKE MOST PEOPLE ON THIS SITE I DONT HAVE A CLEAN SLATE, I HAVE 3 POINTS ON MY LICENCE!!!!!

Heh, I wonder if he was within his rights to refuse the heli ride? :p

Stuff like this really puts me off of the idea of going to the ring.

Its not that bad if you drive with any kinda of sense... he was obviously driving well beyond his capabilities long before he even got into the corner, then used the brakes (I'm guessing he realised after he commited he didn't have the skill to pull it off) at completely wrong point for the speed. Just drive within your capabilities and you'll be fine.

Im also curious about this

Nasty. Will his E111 pay for the heli and treatment?

Maybe the health care at the hospital but cant see it covering the heli ...

What a chav, he can barely type English let alone drive.

Think thats a little unfair buddy, someones bad english hardly makes them a chav and regarding the driving comment i think it can happen to anyone especially when your hammering your car around the ring. you managed to put your 5 series into a ditch, dosent necessarily make you a bad driver :p

Quite ironic how much understeer he got mind you ;)

Yeah can happen to anyone, but from the way he was driving it looked like he'd jump straight in there fairly new to the ring and thought he was a racing driver.

How does it, looks to me like he misjudged his speed coming into the corner. A simple mistake i feel. He could be a complete tool, i don’t know him just think it’s a little unfair to judge someone’s driving style and personality etc on a 20 second video and some text :p

lol, never mind. At least over on the ring it wont effect our insurance premiums!

It kinda does - none of us can get insurance to cover us on the ring now as insurance companies, sick of the annual procession of chavs to Germany who then drive around it at 110% and write cars off, now specifically exclude it, even for those of us who appreciate the risks and don't drive round it on the ragged edge.

Understeer is safe....the internet told me.

:p

Yes it did.

I disagree, you made a mistake like most people and I’m sure learnt from it. From meeting you and seeing your driving style i consider you to be a very careful driver and i think most people would concur.

Whats the damage to his wallet then?

Tens of thousands for track closure and helicopter, plus written off VXR Ring edition thats worth what, 20k?

Popular corner for crashing.

Did not even look like he used brakes at all. Probably would have come of better if he planted his foot into the floor and let the ABS do the work. I was more than shocked when on an airfield I ploughed into a corner at 90mph, stood on the brake pedal and watched the no drama, no slide slow down occur.

Does the VXR have any kind of stability control?

He brakes just before the apex while still turning in by the looks of it, granted video isn't very high quality so it could just be artifacts, the back kicks out for a second then either he lifted off the brakes or traction control kicked in and it corrects but the damage is done.
