Fifa 11 First Look

PES is like table football. The graphics and audio / visual presentation on the whole is a generation behind. The physics are rubbish, the dribbling is just the same animation over and over, quite badly cut as well because when you're sprinting it just kind of interrupts it's self. The shooting feels like you're trying to kick a medicine ball, the passing feels like your boots are made of concrete, there's no real flair play to speak of and it hasn't got the proper Fifa license so half of your favourite players and teams aren't even in the game. A dodgy editor where you can change faces and add badges does not make up for this. It's poor.

Maybe the new one coming out will be good, only time will tell but to be honest if Fifa gets the improvements it's supposedly getting then it will be even better than 10 which despite it's shortcomings is an absolute age ahead of the PES series at the moment.

IMO, the graphics are much more realistic than FIFA. And the commentary is better by default as there is no Andy Gray. As for the teams and players not being in the game, they are, but the team names are not. Example, North East London = Spurs and the full squad is there.

....making me wanna reinstall 2008 on my PC...

Wow that vid looks terrible, it actually looks like Fifa 06 on the PS2. The animations are so jerky! It's obviously not the final build but Konami need to do better than that with the finished product. One thing I will give it though is that the crowd in that video sounds much better than the Fifa crowds. Also, the commentary in Fifa, if you get a non-gamer around they could be mistaken for it being a real match if they aren't watching you play, PES commentary is renowned to be terrible. Whether you like Andy Gray or not, it is still fairly realistic and the lines, although repetitive are well read, unlike the flat drones of the PES ones.

Agree to disagree. :p

I prefer the dribbling and shooting.

It also has the best camera.

Oh, and when you've mastered the super-cancel, you can rip noobs apart.

Those are all subjective. :p

It doesn't have 'the best' camera, it just has a camera angle that you find the best personally. You can customise the Fifa camera mind... :p

What's super cancel? I'm guessing that's like fake shot or something?

Essentially, gives you full manual control over a player, which is why I never got frustrated as much as in FIFA. Never felt helpless to what was happening.

You can switch off automatic player switching in Fifa btw. It can be completely manual, as can the passing and shooting as well. :)

I don't mean manual player switching, but manual control of the player's movements. I.E. No positioning assistance, no pre-assigned touches etc.

For example, you know in FIFA where we get annoyed when a player uses his weaker foot? Using supercancel you can position your player in a way that you can get the shot you want.

Ahh I geddit. Cool.

Club? Sure if we've got the players I'll be on now, beats watching the horse crap that is Big Brother. :D

So happy finally they'll be an option to save goals to the console including online goals!

Really? :)

I'm intrigued as to how they'll allow you to save online goals. I think the easiest way would be to allow you to review all the goals at the end of the game and the save the ones you want.
