Game moments which you've just thought.... "My goodness"

Hmm...
Deus Ex. After escaping the MJ12 facility and working out where it is.

Yes, this indeed. One of my, if not my absolute favourite game.

There have been others, individual moments. Eve online had several for me, many moons ago, before I departed that world forever. When I built a station, myself and my corp, it was the second station ingame, we managed to deploy just one day after an entire alliances effort to be first. We did it silently, and without any spy incursions. When we told our alliance I recall a rather heated debate between myself and some chum who though he was in authority, and my air of self-righteous smugness was utterly supreme, he chucked his dummies so far that day I doubt he has recovered them yet, and better still he called me a f'in c as loudly as a person could scream on TS. In our diretcor chat we sat laughing and laughing as his utter retardation. Amazing how a game could utterly corrupt an ally in his own mental state. The manipulation was extreme and his reaction so uncalled for it completed galvanised the rest of the alliance against him. It's a personal moment, but still one I recall.

CoD 2 i think it was, one of the first missions where the sky was filled with parachutists, bombers and anti aircraft fire. really set the scene and felt like you were in the middle of it.

WoW - that first time you fly over a massive area on one of the gryphons. Mmm that was some spectacular scenery at the time.

Mass Effect - Sovereign and the Citadel at the end. Those were some awesome cutscenes imo.

Halo - (it counts for pc :P) - that last mad dash with the warthog as the theme tune blasted out in the final level, epic :).

Bioshock - 'Would you Kindly'

tons!

Most memorably, the entirety of HL2 (especially boating under the collapsing pillar, first time running on the roof-tops, and the pant-wettingly scary first go through ravenholme!).

Peering over the hilltop at the sunset in Crysis was a wow moment, I failed the side mission as I was just sat looking at the scenery for about ten minutes :p

Tbh, I was going to roll off a list of games, but now I'm just playing through HL2 in my head :D

The zero mavity section in Crysis was truly spectacular for me -- I had never experienced anything quite like it, nor have I since (I really need to give Shattered Horizon a go). In fact, I was in awe at the game as a whole when I played it for the first time because it's just so bloody gorgeous.

- Most of Mass Effect.
- Most of Mass Effect 2.
- That bit in Diablo I where it's your first run through (and you're only 10years old) and you open a door and this voice goes "Ahhh, fresh meat!", and you drop bricks.
- HL2 Ravenholm, again for "My goodness, my pants need changing!"
- Age of Conan, can't remember the name of the place, but it had a series of large waterfalls, and it just looked stunning. Cue me taking my horsey into said waterfalls and riding them all the way down. :D

Starstrike 3d on the Speccy

Half life 2 on my new ati

Don't get me started :p

I bought a 9600XT which came with a free copy of HL2 - HL2 was delayed and released about six years later, by which time my 9600XT was old hat :p

I ended up buying A 6800GT (which was awesome enough to do ultra clocks) and it was the best gaming experience I'd had so far, albeit a year late :p

I totally agree with that moment in KOTOR too. Everyone who's played it knows exactly what we're talking about here. One of the most memorable moments in gaming ever.

The thing is although I know the idea you are talking about, but I can't actually remember a single thing about how it was actually revealed!

Half Life- When you are crawling through the cave and come to the mountain edge and see the 2 jets flying past.

Bioshock - That bit

Mass Effect - The finale and pretty much the rest of it :p
