So who's got an XBOX "Slim" coming this week?

I think most people just want a new toy (even if it is basically the same). I'm getting it for no other reason TBH. I'm so use to spending money on PC hardware that I'm happy to drop £100 to get a shiny new xbox just for the novelty of a slightly different form. That and I run a few USB things off my XBOX and want them all round the back.

Lol £2 USB hub.......

Lol £2 USB hub.......
I got a purist desk set-up. Dont want a dirty hub :p

Anyway I shouldnt of mentioned that as my point is I'm just getting one because I want the shiny new. I could break it down and justify it further to myself but what's the point? I want the new shiny!

Serious question now, if you had a six month old super elite would it be worth loosing 2 years or so warranty (stumpy only has 1) just to for the noise difference? Wireless isnt needed and stumps run hotter but use less power, so is it worth it?

I wouldn't dream of trading my super elite in for one. I Install all my 360 games and it runs silent and as you mentioned I got the extra warranty. Also I don't use wireless so it's an extra feature I don't need.

just bought mine from the place that sells everything from a to z for £190. anyone know if i can expect to get it for this Friday? very important that I do so if i don't i'll end up having to go into town and rush around to find someone with one in stock.

people are mentioning deals on release day but are they really worth waiting for?

I'll wait at least a year before thinking of getting a new model - still got a year warranty on my xbox and I install games to the HDD so never really had a problem with noise.
Not to mention I'd like to give the new models a year of circulation to see just how reliable they are.

I moved everything around in my lounge a few months ago so was looking for a Wifi adaptor anyway so this came at the right time. Add the fact my Elite was a 2006 launch Elite and my 120GB HD was pretty full anyway it makes a lot of sense.

I can't deny the shiny new toy factor either though :P

Ive ordered one - I'm on my 2nd 360 and it's out of warranty (I had it extended to 3 years). It's only 20gb. I'm getting the new one for bigger disk, quieter, hdmi connection, new warranty (extended again) and for the fact I already had one red ring error that went away and I'm getting loads of disk failed to read issues. Not bothered trading it in will probably let my dad have it to play some shooters or something.

Oh what the hell let me justify mine further :D

-Want the usbs at the back
-Needed to buy a wifi adaptor at some point
-My pad is on its way out so needed a new one
-Less noise would be a +
-Slightly smaller will look better on the small desk space I have for it
-New walk in to shop to replace warranty will be nice

Seeing as my elite has finished its warranty...in fact a month ago i sent it back to M$ to get the dvd drive fixed as it wasnt reading discs...they replaced it with a new one from what the note inside the box said.

Wasnt too sure abotu trading it in but have decided to this weekend as the new one looks nicer, slimmer etc....plus ive got about £100 worth of credit from a high st retailer so it will cost me around £20 to get one.

I hardly ever play my 360 but that is down to no XLB sub and no way of getting it online anyway.

Have always been tempted to get a wireless adapter for it so this might push me over the edge! Well out of warranty and was a replacement for a RROD about 2-3 years ago.

There's a high street store giving £110 trade in on elites BTW people. Most people go there to buy music.

Actually just rung them up and the guy said that if its in working order and in good condition they will offer up to £120 but needs to come complete ie cables etc etc.

I'll be heading into my local one on Sat to see how much i get for mine as its literally brand new ie replaced by M$ a month ago.

But is that the Super Elite(250gb) or the standard Elite(120gb)?
