for gaming at 1024x768 yeah, its acceptable. I dont know how acceptable the scaling on that 1920x1080 lcd would be though.

Not a sony laptop but I have a Clevo M860TU based laptop with T9600 and GTX260m and its very capable at 1680x even in the latest games. (Equivalent to a desktop machine with an E8300 + 1gig 9800GT).

Would struggle on some games at 1920x yes... but it would probably give mostly playable fps with high settings - but not ultra high - in Farcry 2 if you keept the res to 1280x.

I've placed an order for one of these, need a new laptop for working from home and this one isn't in the best shape (especially after I took it apart to change the hinge/lid etc.!)

Hopefully have it by end of next week after shipping UK to Malaysia
