best deal for HTC Desire ?

So, this Desire for £285 deal with o2 simplicity... is it only for the 12 month simplicity, or can it be got for the same price on the rolling one month simplicity contracts as well?

They told me you can have it on the one month rolling simplicity deal too

i have just got upgraded to the desire on t-mobile after a bit of pleading etc i have got the phone for free plus 600 mins +unlimited txt + unlimited internet all for £25 a month so well happy as last week they only give me the wildfire and wanted £210 for me to have the desire...only downside is that its in such high demand i have got to wait upto 3 weeks to get it as its out of stock, but it will come with the latest software so he told me :)

Good deal on Mobiles.co.uk at the mo.

24 months, £25pm but with 15 months half price by redemption. Orange Dolphin, with 300 mins, 3000 texts, and 500Mb data and free Desire handset.

Works out £412.50 for the contract, and therefore £17.19 per month.

Bargain!

can someone explain the cashback by redemption stuff the orange deal sounds good but im not sold on the idea

Every x months you have to send in your bills to them within 60 days of the period in question ending. Then after x days (usually after 30 or so) they pay you the redemption money.

There are warnings out there about making sure to follow their rules precisely, but really as long as you remember to send in the bill by the deadline then you'd struggle to go wrong.

Whats in it for them?

Money. They're just selling a product like anyone else.

How are they able to do this?

The people that don't claim or claim incorrectly, pay for the people that do. You must be very careful to read the small print especially those of the smaller, less well-known operations. For example, if porting a number, some require a copy of the first bill showing your new number! Another one to be careful of is - when they say 'send us the bill after 3 months', do they mean from porting date or contract date, etc...

Also, because they're entirely web-based i.e. no high street presence to pay for, they aren't absorbing overheads from stores etc. and can therefore afford to reduce selling prices.

Can i keep my number?

Yes, just get your PUK code and it'll port the number as normal.

This all sounds very scary

Has anyone on here had any problems

I got my desire a couple of months ago fom e2save [I believe something to do with carphonewarehouse] on the dolphin deal mentioned above [equivalent to about £18 per month, plus £50 quidco!].

They seem to be pretty transparent about the redemption system - I printed off this page explaining when I need to send off my bills.

Ok
Im nearly abojt to order lol

Just need to ask a few things

Do i get instructions of when to send of

Im currently with orange and want to keep my number. What do i do as the site says something about only porting if you have changed network

Just follow the instructions on the redemptions website and you'll be fine, as for Orange phone them up and tell them you've got a deal elsewhere and need to cancel the current contract/transfer the number.
Worst case you'll have to stick your number on a o2/3 etc payg sim then back to orange.
