Hi people,
I'm looking at buying a new bike but I want to do a HPI check on it. All my money is in the bank which is inaccessible as I'm transferring my accounts as I've just had to open a student account for uni.

If anyone can do a hpi check for me on reg W514 HBD and post the details, I'd be forever grateful!

The bike is a 2001 Suzuki SV650S

Thanks :)

HPI Checks cost £15+

Do they? I thought they were only like £3 like those advertised on the tv haha, nevermind then!

Is there anyway you can find out if its written off or stolen/recovered etc for cheaper?

Cheapo ones can be done for £3-ish too :confused:

EDIT: Beaten to it while I was dithering what to type.

EDIT2: Seriously are you saying you've no way of paying online? No cards currently working at all? No friends or family to help with £3? Your post suggests you're asking someone to pay for you, but if you were to ask for help and would pay them back then you might get a better response (I've seen that happen here).

I've only got cash on me, don't have the new account card yet and my old account is now closed. I didn't realise they were so expensive that's all, didn't know if there's somehow of getting cheap/free ones or something like that.

I'll just borrow some money off the rents in the morning, everyone's asleep at the minute. No worries :)

Where is the best place to use to buy a HPI check? Is there a specific company or anything? Don't really understand all of these HPI stuff.

Cheers

Seeing as you're an old sk00l OcUKer then I'll do it with the cheapy mycarcheck for £3.95 if you:

1) Pay me back within 1 month (bank transfer)
2) Donate £1 to a charity and email me to say to have.
3) Let me know in the next 35 mins (2am).

Offers there. I'm taking a risk but it's only a few £ and if it works out then charity wins :)

I'll do you a full on HPI check on Monday if you can wait :)

It's fine people, I'll just ask the rents nicely in the morning.

Happy, do you work for people who get them for free or something? I'd feel a bit guilty otherwise.
Usually someone from OCUK has a way or knows someone who can get something for free or discounted kind of so I thought I'd ask that's all :)

Cheers for the offer, but I'll just wait until the morning :p

I just thought I'd try a HPI check whilst I've got nothing else to do and can't sleep.

Ok, no probs. Offer is still there tomorrow but not sure what time I'll check back here. pm me if you need it :)

http://www.cartextcheck.com/:"Simply text CTC then a space then the registration number to 83600 and get an instant Car Text Check texted to your mobile phone in seconds for only £3."

It will get charged to your phone bill. You can even do it from your house phone if it has SMS.

The 3 quid ones are pointless. Well not pointless, but they dont contain nearly enough information.

I did a proper HPI check last week at £15 and it revealed the car in question had been clocked. There were ZERO signs on the vehicle that this was the case, and the car even had a well detailed yet fake service history. A crappy 3 quid text check would not have told me this.

What car was this and what info did it show on it? :)

It was a Mondeo ST TDCi with 63k miles. HPI revealed that various dealers had made regular entries on the National Mileage Register and the car was infact showing 153k miles - the one owner from new had done nearly 50k a year!

:O Nice spot, must have been very well looked after to have been passable for a 63k'er at that mileage. How come you were HPI'ing a Mondeo?

There a bit his and miss though aren't they? I did two of those checks which are suppose to be the best ones and neither revealed any information about mileage. It just said it wasn't available.

Which website did you use?

I used https://www.mycarcheck.com/ - Gold Check.
