yup dans nuke and boots pretty good and free but sometimes doesnt find my sata hdds.
I prefer Acronis true image home it has a section of tools and Acronis disc erase, even using the Full Wipe (fastest) and then running a data recovery software like recovery my files/get data back it doesnt find anything afterwards
Agreed - there are theories of data recovery using Magnetic Force Microscopy and perhaps small bits of data could be recovered but this usually on older hard drives that don't have such accurate heads and where disks have not been over written many times.
Using Darik's Boot and Nuke on a modern hard drive you'll have no issues
This is a great post and makes me think of where I can fit in.Killdisk will do the job and your drive manufacturers site will have software to do this as well.DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.
