You won't get any mainstream newspaper to come out & support Atheism even if the editor supports it but I have no doubt it will happen before long as more people stop & actually think what rubbish they have been told to believe since birth.
It's the same as the ridiculous morning prayers in the house of commons, all MP's are automatically religious are they?? no of course they're not but they are still expected to join in praying to the invisible man in what amounts to the biggest con in the history of the human race & you accuse me of talking crap,lol

Actually I did watch it as my previous post attests.

Nothing I have said in reference to the clip is untrue. I have met Richard Dawkins on several occasions ( my brother is a friend and ex student of his) and while he is an amiable and likeable person, his knowledge of comparative religion is sadly lacking so the accusation you level at me can also be applied to Richard Dawkins. Even some in the crowd in the video shouted out Rubbish at him.

If your hair is a bird I would suggest you see a vet asap.

Richard Dawkins is an interesting fellow i have to admit and watching the above video...well suffice to say im pretty much with Castiel with what he says...he just doesnt have a clue when it comes to religion sadly.

I asked my wife, who attended a Catholic School and was bought up a Catholic whether she was as Dawkins has suggested in the past taught;

Creation over Evolution. her answer was no, she was taught Evolution.

That Condoms were useless. Her answer was no, she was taught how to put them on using a fake penis.

That Homosexuals are evil. Her answer again was no, she was taught that all people are equal.

That all other faiths are evil: Again her answer was no, she was taught about all the other religions as well as Catholicism.

Was she taught that the biblical stories, i.e Genesis/Leviticus were factual. Her answer again was no she was not, it was clear that they were allegorical.


So it would seem that some of you are indeed full of the brown stuff.

I just find it funny how everyone is suddenly an atheist and hates anything remotely related to catholicism!

Nothing to do with all the "celebrity" endorsements for becoming an atheist I expect?

People seem to have some form of vendetta against cathloics, not based upon their own opinions but forming an argument based upon those of the likes of Richard Dawkins.

While it's frowned upon to belittle muslims or those of other faiths, it seems to be socially acceptable to oppress catholicism nowadays.

Just let people believe what they want to believe.

Nothing, there was no such thing at the time. Now she doesn't mind one way or the other. I asked her Mother also who reiterated what my wife said and she is a strict catholic who attends church twice a week.

The point is that most of the stuff bought up to attack the Church within their doctrine isn't actively taught, much is anachronistic and should be seen as such. The problem is that within the Church you get the odd 90 year old Cardinal who still spouts on stuff as if it is still 1920 and people like Dawkins use that to attack everyone within the Church. It's like saying all Atheists are like Chairman Mao or Stalin.

The Catholic Church needs to address it's policy on contraception in Africa, and it's policy on Celibacy, that is a given, but they are not evil, neither is the Pope.
