Me and my girlfriend are looking to go away for a few night towards the end of October with the dog. Idealy we are wanting to go coastal somewhere.
Money is of a slight issue as we don't really want to spend too much. We are based in Derby so the distance to the coast is pretty much the same in any direction. Looking to drive no more than 2 hours 30 minutes (2 hours to Bridlington which is pretty much the safest bet as the beaches are dog friendly), 3 hours MAX as that would get us to the Lake District, just about!!
We have budgeted for petrol at £50 for the full return journey which should take us 250 miles or there abouts according to this fuel calculator. The budget for accomodation is around £100-£150. So £200 in total inc travel. Cheaper the better.
If we go for one night stop over then Bridlington is probably going to be the best bet as there wont be too much driving within the 48 hours, however if we can get a two night stop over somewhere then driving distance could be lengthend.
I have been to Bridlington a few times and know the area but we would like to go somewhere else that is quiet, nice and dog friendly.
I have looked at various website listing B&B's, lodges etc but I have no idea on the locations and what its like there.
If anyone has some good information on locations and costs please let me know. We are not looking for 5* etc just somewhere warm and friendly thats loves dogs.
