E36 328 - Tell me

And perhaps one day you won't have such a wrapped perception of speed :).

It's got nothing to do with a wrapped(sic) sense of speed, it's about context. As you dot understand that there is no point talking about it with you.

Can't agree with you there.

"Only" a second? That's pretty much an eternity when we are talking about things like this. You will notice a second in a 0-60 sprint unless you've got a wrapped sense of speed and acceleration.

8 seconds to 60 is by no means fast. Diesel repmobiles will be making you their ***** at the traffic light GP.

A second is an eternity? well, in your world Joshy perhaps......

8 Seconds to 60 is plenty fast enough, anyway, 0-60 is for traffic light GP morons anyway imo :p

I can't remember the last time I tried a full on launch anyway - why bother?

Midrange is where it matters - overtaking - and there, imo the 328i is ample for most users I'd say.

As for diesel repmobiles making one their *****, well, thats not my own experience!

Sure, I would not expect to beat something like a modern 335D but its ample for the majority of oil burners....

Phate, if its as good as it sounds, then the £2k ballpark sounds good. :)

Slow cars? LOL

You know that with some skills, you can be the very fastest thing on the road in an E36 328i, right? Not every situation is a 0-60 dash.

For most people, most of the time, the car you are in doesn't really matter once you are into a certain performance ballpark.

Sure, you don't even need a 328i

A few years back, a far better driver than I used to regularly humiliate some pretty exotic but poorly driven machinery with my old 318i.

Knowing the road like the back of your hand, and being a genaral lunatic helps mind you. ;) :D
