Handbrakes and MOT's

The deleted posts of yours with name calling were looking for an argument. Name calling because someone pointed out we were talking about a saving nearly 3 times to what you suggested.

I couldn't give a monkeys toss about what you were discussing, and then trying to apply to me.

I simply stuck up a wee post about my MOT habbit, then bang. Motors acting like presumptious morons.

It wasn't name calling. Some in here clearly are set back with intelligence and comprihension.

People have differing levels of acceptance when it comes to dictionary definitions.

FFS, I said I cba to phone look around for a cheaper MOT.

I did demonstrate how it takes 90 seconds with google to find and book a half price MOT but you replied with pathetic sarcasm.

You dont need to faff about, you dont need to 'hunt', it isnt extra effort and unless you drive a decrepid shed that needs a mate to 'pass' its MOT there is no reason not to save £30 a year.

Oh and as for the pedant stuff, you made a fool of yourself, people called you on it, get over it. You implied the saving was a tenner a year when in reality is it THREE TIMES THAT over paying £55 for the MOT - which is what the discussion was about, as thats what Kahn paid.

You often get into arguments in GD as well though Biohazard. Maybe you're the common element?

Discussions and arguments.

I've seen the same with you?

And many others?

Do I cause OcUK 'arguments' then? Even ones I'm no where near?

It is the nature of the board, and the people it attracts.

Yes, but there is more than that as I said to you. (not much, but it is to my thinking)

90 seconds well, not if you want to shop around. But yes it wouldn't take long, yes I should be bothered, am I?

No.

Should anyone else be?

If they are they should get a life.

So I could buy a roadworthy 19 for £60?

Is this all you guys can do?

Run old bmw's and passats, slagging off others cars?

You've spent more time arguing about the 'faff' of organising an MOT in this thread than it would take to book your next 4 years MOT's, saving you a total of £120.

That would buy another Renault 19!

I haven't made a fool of myself, people have taken my words in a context I didn't even realise was here, or applied to EVERYTHING said. I didn't see what they were talking about, I saw some discussion on MOT's and savings and merely posted about my MOT habbit and saving a tenner, or not.

I've not been caught out by anything?

Let me get this right, this boils down to Biohazard thinking that anybody who clicks a link and spends 90 seconds booking an MOT at a perfectly reputable nationwide chain who offer MOT's for a £30 saving to need to "get a life"?

I dont care if people are genuinely not bothered, i do not always go for the cheapest MOT place either, but that comment is quite strange.

Sit there smug with your 'ultimate driving machine' laying waste in a snobby fashion to others?

It clearly wouldn't buy a 19 when mint examples are going for around the 2 grand mark.

If you can quote me saying that yes, but your going to have a very hard time in doing so. I was talking about them critising me for it, but hey don't let not understanding something get in the way of a pointless attackor moan at someone.

It isn't stopping anyone else :D

Neither do I.

You can look around the cars whenever you want for free.

Plus where were you going to do if it failed, accept BMW's quote for repairs at £80+ an hour?

I'd have taken it elsewhere as I still had 15 days until it expired :)

Plus Fox, when you have the sort of money where you can just impulse buy cars, saving £30 just isn't an issue*

* I will be using this place next time :(

.

BUT SAVING MONEY IS SAD! As is washing your car.

Problem is now MOTs are done on the electronic system they would know it failed an MOT the day before and what on.

No it isn't. Saving money is a good idea. I never said it wasn't.

I get benefits from just going to them, and not looking to save money.

Leeway, and more often than not use of the ramps for myself if I need anyway etc

And as a sidenote, no one said washing your car was sad.

But its not like motors to ignore whats said and just traipse on misrepresenting people anyway.

Oh yeah but I just meant I'd have taken it elsewhere to get the work done then take it back to BMW for the retest

Oh the irony! You were the one trying to trivialise the easy savings you can get come MOT time.

NOw you tell us they let you use the ramps etc so how is your situation at all relevant to the discussion you chose to join?

Very good, but I'm not. I haven't, and I wouldn't.

Because its about MOT's, and savings. (originally about your handbrake and the 16% pass)

I didn't realise you set the terms of discussion here, and that it had to be 100% in context and relevence, nothing less, than with what everyone else had said to that point so far.

How about explaining which terms you are discussing, it makes it kind of relevant when you are joining a conversation comparing £27 MOTs to £55 ones. How are we supposed to know that Jock's Audis in the Outer Hebrides was offering only a tenner off unless you tell us and what relevance does it have to a conversation talking about saving nearly £30 anyway?

I paid £27.49. The same as I always pay (Except for once in 2006 when BMW did it as the car was under warranty).

Numerous places offer discounted MOT's. There is no need to pay £55 for an MOT.

You could have had your car hoovered twice. :p
