Harry Potter and the Deatly Hallows trailer

I watched the Sorcerers Apprentice and for me that's how a magic film should be, the potter films always lack magic for me.

All those who dislike the films and/or books are clearly squibs or only fit for Hufflepuff!

Just got in from watching it and I thought it was great. I've never read any of the books, but by easily the best of all the movies to be honest. :)

Is harry potter such a puff in the books as he is in the films? I get so mad when he's supposed to be some powerful wizard and yet he doesn't seem to be able to do anything he seems to know 1 decent spell and when its against anyone of power its useless. If i was him id be walking around like a BOSS. Shirt unbuttoned , collar up. Hermione would be all over my wond.

the films are just the same. Prime example for me is the half blood prince, chasing after Professor Snape after he's killed dumbledore

The best he could manage was a spell that snape deflected with ease. The same against bellatrix in the swaps outside the weasleys house.

Despite apparently being well beyond his peers and "the chosen one" he seems to come off second best to the adults most of the time. Except when of course he can summon a petronas charm that can fend off an entire army of dementors

His skill & talent seems to see saw up and down depending upon how vulnerable JK rowling wants to make him seem. This is a criticism of both the books and the film :/

Actually iirc harry is always presented as slightly above average wizard but not particularly gifted or special in terms of magical ability.

but he is though. Look at the order of the phoenix where his knowledge of combat spells is far beyond that of his peers

As the Worlds biggest Harry Potter fan... I didn't "love" it, but admit I quite enjoyed it more then I was expecting to.

Didn't like some parts, but enjoyed the tension and "feel" of the film.

Ok, so I dont really understand how Yates can get Half Blood Prince so, so wrong.. yet Deathly Hallows so, so right.

Yes, it was cut to shreds, and the order was mixed up bit but nothing was missing that was plot integral. In fact... I think he actually did a bang up job in moving the film along without skipping important parts.

Half Blood Prince however left some gaping plot holes that are pinnacle plot moments in the finale so i'll be interested to see how they recover from them.

I saw it last night in a packed Imax. Thought it was pretty good but some parts were very slow. Really looking forward to part 2 :).
Also thought that Hermione looked a lot like the Bella Swan from Twilight at some points.

They've missed far too much out of the films in general, I think they'd have benefitted from having one director and the same writers through out the films.

The Half Blood Prince was indeed absolutely torn to shreds and has huge plot holes, as have other films but I thought they got the first one spot on.

Looking forward to part II, as I think if it carries on in this vein it could be better.

Same here, not read any of the books, but my missus is a massive fan. Thought the last film was pretty boring but this one was a good watch! :)
