Its a thanks to the ones doing a good job and to the others that can improve. Spie made a similar tread few months back on how to welcome more new ppl. So I think this thread is justified.

No I'm thinking in my head compared to all the communities forums out there and Gd, why does ocuk always have to have political /religious crap. Why do we have SC for?

Look at other forums for example neowin of neogaf Gd

I think they do a fantastic job, some rules do seem to be a bit grey, as said there' a lot of slightly risky religious and political stuff. But then I don't see how you can make everything black and white. So it's upto the dons/management what is and isn't acceptable.

But I do wish more mods would use the yellow marker, so people know clear what was broken, without emailing and other members are reminded at the same time.

No the aim is to get feedback from users , so the mods can read and see some peoples thought .

So why only pick out the negative comment for thanks and praise? Surely you should respond the same to all posters posting an opinion?

As I say, I have only been a mod for 6 months but I have seen none of what you say.

It seems that things have changed.

I have never seen any issues, the forum leaders lay down guidelines, often the mods are left to interpret them as they see fit ( which I think is the only way to do it ) but when we have things we are insure of we discuss amongst ourselves and ask the admins/Spie for input if required

Just stick that crap in speakers corner its not hard or a news RSS sections as others have mentioned. Rather than hit and run posters as they are called.

hit and run posters are definitely not welcome in SC but sometimes by the time you catch them other posters have made a decent discussion of it, so it is then a shame to delete

Ah the trusty yellow text - a very useful tool. However I tend to use green in the MM ;)

any colours good, it just saves people moaning, threads saying no reply to emails and gives everyone a reminder. Some mods seem to do it as routine, others don't.

Compare this to many other forums and there are far more posts and rules to enforce, all in all they do a great job.

Maybe things have changed since I last did it? It doesn't appear to be the case from my POV though.

Interesting, you became the consummate yes man, yes boss etc when you was a Don, but now you have a problem with how things were run?

Honestly I've never seen anyone change so radically when they got the 'job' than you, but quite a few times I've seen you critise how things were done.

Were you touched up ;)
