Time to pack in smoking i think

I quit a week ago today, cold turkey and feel great, so stick it out
Also saved about £60-70, new cpu cooler as a reward for myself i think :D

Advice to anyone who wants to give up smoking: take up regular exercise at the same time, jogging/running is ideal - honestly it's much easier to give up if you have something else to focus on and for some reason exercise seems to remove the need for a smoke immediately.
However if you've smoked for a while the first time will probably feel like the worst experience of your life :p
I smoked for 6 months or so over the summer last year until I realised I was being an idiot, I quit and took up running again at the same time and was back to doing four and a half minute miles in around 6 weeks, it didn't take long to clean out the lungs at all.

I found it surprisingly easy to kick my 30 a day habit a few years ago. Same can't be said for burgers :(

Good luck matey!

Twiddle a pen between your fingers... chew on the end of it etc.

I've been given up 13 years now from 40 a day.

The THIRD week is the hardest.

It's all in the head..... You CAN do it

go for it.

I'm on day 9 smoke free !! like OP I was sick of paying out for those little white sticks !! (£200 pm)
Using that little nicorette inhaler & Niquitin Mini's ===> getting easier, anyway OcUK should look on the brightside I will have more money to spend on PC bits =D

Had an apointment today with a smoke free lady, am going to try Champix so if anybody has any experience with taking these please let me know how you got on with it, thanks.

It's great stuff, after 2 weeks taking them you'll feel like you never smoked.

The pills did make me feel sick so you must take them with food other than that it's an easy way to stop.

Varenicline is also strongly suspected of causing severe psychological side effects. The US Food and Drug Administration requires varenicline and Zyban (bupropion) to carry a black box warning, the agency's strongest safety warning, due to side effects including depression, suicidal thoughts, and suicidal actions.

Think I'd just keep smoking to be honest.

Been sort of stopped 22 months, sort of as ive been using a vape device, started out using 30ml every 2 weeks of 36mg strength, now I add so much Pg to it that it is only 6mg strength and a lot of the time I dont bother using it.

One thing though, even though I use a vape device, I have not had one bad cough since I stopped smoking roll-ups and cigars and I used to get a lousey cough every cold I got, I was a lousey yellow fingered chain smoking idiot, now im just an idiot, yes, success.

Good luck!

I haven't had one (apart from a drag a few months ago) since the summer and it's great.
Not losing my breath running up some stairs is actually quite nice. Still a fat ******* though :o

i am off the fags now for 5 weeks. i did find it hard, but i am over the worst now.
i would advise going to your GP, and making an appointment for the smoking clinic (most GP's have one)
i went and they gave me patches and inhalers for free (well the price of a prescription)
these really did help, especially the inhalers.

good luck OP and i hope you do it

I quit with champix almost a year ago after 16 yrs of 15-20 a day.
I only took 2 months worth of the 3 month course, apart from the nausea for about 1hour a day for 2 weeks and few crazy dreams I found it extremely easy.
Saved enough for a nice 2 week luxury holiday :)
